Netsmart introduces unique mobile screening solution for COVID-19

In the face of the ongoing pandemic spread worldwide, that has disrupted businesses and turned normal lives upside down, companies have been striving to bring about innovative solutions that can ensure people to remain adequately and correctly informed about the dreaded COVID-19. In response to the same, analytics and telehealth solution provider Netsmart has reportedly come up with a COVID-19 Resource Center that will deliver support to providers for the latest information, industry updates, and vital technology requirements.

Numerous providers have already used the COVID-19 Screening Solution, unveiled in the initial weeks of March, to capture crucial screening questions as well as assessments. This solution also lends support to all healthcare communities and can be used as a safety measure for staff, clients and visitors. The screening solution is accessible on a smart phone, tablet or PC. The screening solution surveys individuals regarding current symptoms – like difficulty breathing, or fever, cough, etc., travel and exposure, any health conditions, and prior COVID-19 testing results.

Christine Holm, Chief Quality and Compliance Officer, Tri-County Mental Health Services, has been quoted stating that screening the patient population with Netsmart’s assessment tools saves them a lot of time. In addition, Tri-County Mental Health Services has been able to use the data for care and to help their staff feel more comfortable, claimed Holm, saying that the assessment speed has decreased to less than two minutes.

The results and prior testing are recorded by the COVID-19 Mobile Screening Solution in the Netsmart CarePathways™ analytics platform so as to ensure visualization, trending, and hot spot mapping. The screening solution, through the Netsmart CareConnect™ network, can also integrate eCR (electronic care reporting) to public health departments and the CDC if required.

Merely a month ago, Netsmart had made it to the headlines for launching a telehealth mobile app to implement an advanced consumer telehealth solution for all Netsmart providers. Telehealth has been gaining prominence lately, even more so than since the onset of COVID-19. With nationwide lockdowns and stringent staff occupancy with the virus-inflicted patients, medical care providers are resorting to telehealth services and solutions to reach out to their patients and deliver suitable treatment. Whether this disrupting trend is meant to last only until the COVID-19 persists, or whether it will become a part of the new normal that the entire healthcare ecosystem will adapt to, is still a matter of debate
