Realme reveals plans of exporting ‘Make in India’ smartphones to Nepal

Shenzhen-based smartphone manufacturer Realme will reportedly start exporting ‘Make in India’ smartphones to Nepal in the third quarter of 2021 to rank among the top 2 brands in the country by 2022.

There are also talks of exporting Realme’s TVs and AIoT (artificial internet of things) products to India’s neighboring economy. Madhav Sheth, Vice President and CEO of Realme India and Europe will be representing the company and leading its business operations in Nepal.

Sheth was quoted saying that Realme has gained great success in India and is looking forward to achieving the same in Nepal by providing innovative products at competitive prices. The company aims to become the second-largest smartphone manufacturer in Nepal, he further added.

Realme is currently the fourth largest smartphone company in Greece, India, and the Czech Republic. The Chinese electronics giant held 23% of the smartphone market share in India between April and June 2021 and is the biggest 5G smartphone provider in the country.

If reports are to be believed, Realme is also the fastest company to reach 50 million cumulative smartphone shipments in India. The company recorded 135% year-over-year growth in the past year and expanded by 17% between April and June 2021.

In other news, Realme’s sub-brand Dizo recently unveiled a smartwatch, named the “Dizo Watch”, which can offer up to 600 nits of brightness. It comes with a 3.4-inch touchscreen at 30 FPS.

The smartwatch is preloaded with 90 sport modes and can provide a battery life of 12 days on a single charge. Moreover, it has an IP68 water-resistant rating of up to 1.5 meters of depth.
