According to the new agreement, Univision networks and stations will be restored on DishLatino and Dish with immediate effect.

Univision communications and Dish network have reportedly announced a new long-term contract, ending a nearly eight-month carriage dispute. According to the new agreement, Univision networks and stations will be restored on DishLatino and Dish with immediate effect.

According to the press release by Dish Network, channels including UniMás, Galavisión, Univision Deportes Network, FOROtv and Tlnovelas, are now available once again to the customers depending upon their package subscription.

Erik Carlson, CEO and President of Dish, reportedly said that the company is grateful to the customers for their patience till it reached a fair agreement for them and all the parties. The latest announcement reflects Dish’s commitment to deliver quality content at right value to U.S. Hispanic community, to which Dish is serving from the last 20 years, he further added.

Vince Sadusky, CEO, Univision, noted that they are delighted to reach an agreement with Dish which recognizes the value of top-rated networks and stations of Univision. He further added that Univision has been looking forward to offer news, entertainment and sports content once again to Dish and DishLatino customers.

Univision had reportedly ceased service on about 60 stations programmed for Dish network and blocked access for Sling customers to its channels on the network in last June.

Dish has controversial history of carriage negotiations which has led to network and stations blackout until agreements have been reached. Dish has disputes with HBO as well over carriage fees which led Dish to lose many of its subscribers.

For the record, Dish is a US-based direct-broadcast satellite provider. As per reliable sources, Dish reported 12.3 million total pay-TV subscribers at the end of 2018, including 2.4 million subscribers on Sling TV.
